Japanese Type 3 Chi Nu tank with Type 3 high velocity 75mm gun and one Type 97 7.7mm machine gun. Due to design problems with the Chi To tank, Chi Nu was developed to get a medium tank with adequate armor penetration in the field. Accordingly, Chi Nu's design was based on Chi He's hull, with an expanded turret ring and adjusted internal layout to accommodate the larger gun and turret. While the gun was a considerable improvement, armor remained inadequate with only 50mm on the hull front and 25mm on the turret front. In the event, fewer than 170 were built and retained in the Home Islands for defense against the American invasion that never came. Each tank comes with one open and one closed commander’s cupola module. All models can be had in alternate scales with price varying by size. A dedicated listing for 1/56 scale models for games like Bolt Action will be posted as soon as soon as I can print and photograph models in that scale.
