This vehicle is a lightly armored, amphibious tracked vehicle that was intended to be the basis for rear echelon roles unsuitable for wheeled vehicles and is a development of the MT-LB. Retains the range, reliability, excellent trafficability and low production and operating cost of its ancestor while greatly increasing cargo space and capacity. This version is the basic, unarmed transport which other versions are based on. Widely exported to Communist Bloc nations, and in the post Cold War world many other NATO and non-aligned nations, and is still in service worldwide. Versions in this listing include the basic transport, command version which comes with 2 DSHk 12.7mm heavy machine guns and 1V26 Obolon artillery command vehicle. The command version is suitable for many command, staff, fire direction or computer variants with different internal arrangements but the same appearance. The 1V26 model represents several artillery battery command vehicles with the same hull but somewhat different internals for missions including battery command, meteorological and surveying support, fire direction and higher headquarters fire control nodes.
