US M728 CEV 1/100
US M728 Combat Engineer Vehicle with M135 165mm demolition gun, M85 .50 calibre heavy machine gun and M240 7.62mm coaxial machine gun. Derived from the M60 tank chassis following an extended development period that began in the late 1940s as a successor to the combat engineer vehicles of WW2 fame, the M728 was intended to use the demolition gun to destroy anti-tank obstacles, bunkers, walls or anything else that got in the way. While not intended for anti-personnel work, The M135 was very effective in that role, removing fortified infantry positions with prejudice. Also equipped with either a M9 bulldozer blade or D7 mine plough as well as a turret mounted crane and winch, which made the CEV capable of breaching berms and anti-tank ditches, digging fighting positions and many other combat engineering tasks. Entered service in 1968 and gave good service in Viet Nam and Desert Shield/Desert Storm as an engineer and assault vehicle. Finally withdrawn from service in 2018, replaced by the M1150 Assault Breacher Vehicle.
